Blagojevich and Obama Discussed Senate Seat

Blagojevich- Barack Obama and I HAVE discussed how to fill his Senate Seat. Barack Obama- I have NEVER spoken to Blago about my Senate replacement… Who is lying?

Before this is covered up/retracted/denied too ala KHQA 7, here is what an article in the archives of the Chicago-Tribune says:

Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday cited the potential for bad “karma” and avoided discussing potential Senate successors to Barack Obama should the Democratic nominee win the White House, but acknowledged he has a process in mind for making the most important appointment of his career.

“I just don’t want to jinx him and I don’t like the karma of me thinking that far ahead,” Blagojevich said of Obama’s prospects in Tuesday’s election. The governor added, “We have had some discussions about a process which we’ll share … if all goes well.”
Contrast the above with this statement from Obama: (click the title above to read the entire article on P.U.M.A.)

Christianity and Barack Obama

Just browsing through the Read My Lipstick Network blogs and two blogs from Barracuda Babes popped up that I found interesting. She wrote about Barack Obama, character, judgement, Christianity and a number of related subjects and touched on a lot of areas that sparked my little pea brain's thought process.

I decided to find out more about Barack Obama's Christian beliefs if I could, which I figured would be next to impossible given his penchant for hiding things of importance. But, but, but, I sputter, I was able to find out much, much, much.

Here be a grouping of YouTube comments right from the very mouth of Mr. Obama that will allow you to make your own decisions on whether he's a Christian or not. Ya gotta love YouTube, you can run, you can sneak, you can talk in private and it just doesn't matter if there's anyone else in the room. You're busted.

Checks and Balances in Government

Our government is set up to have checks and balances.

Have you thought about what happens to that system if Barack Obama is elected?

We would have a Democrat Congress and a Democrat President.

Whatever Obama will want, he'll get.

When Supreme Court positions come up, Obama will be able to appoint whoever he wants and will know they'll breeze through.

Then he'll have control over Congress, the Presidential office and our legal system.

Given the current economic difficulties can you imagine how easy it will be for him to take over the country, change the Constitution, nationalize anything he chooses?

Think it's far fetched? Study history and see how easy countries were led down the path of communism, dictatorships or socialism. Smooth talkers made the future look rosy but the reality was the ruination of economies, war, poverty and the loss of freedom. Our country's future is at stake. Our Constitution is at risk. We need to keep our system of checks and balances if we are going to keep our freedom.

Obama says he'll sit down with foreign dictators, no preconditions

I finally found the video of the debate where Barack Obama says he'll sit down with foreign dictators without any preconditions. Come on Joe, give it up, you know better because you were there.

Let's Elect John McCain and Sarah Palin!!!

Wasn't Sarah Palin super last night? I have read today's stories and listened as the media tried to figure out how they wanted to handle her. It is just like the day after her first speech - they haven't gotten their talking points yet so they're floundering and some are being honest and saying they thought she did great!

It's only going to take them a day or so at most to regroup and hear from the Democratic Party on how they're supposed to attack Sarah so enjoy today!

I am hoping normal Americans rise up and vote for our team of true mavericks and that they aren't as easily led as usual by all the insinuations and junk that is passed off as news. I like what Sean Hannity said about the death of the media. He is so right in that the true media has been co-opted and died a nasty death (he didn't say it that way, I extrapolated all that from his one comment ).

Here's today's campaign update email:

Friends,

Millions of people across the country have joined the grassroots effort to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin as our next President and Vice President. Many of you have attended town hall meetings, rallies and other campaign events and want to know how you can help the McCain-Palin ticket. There are two ways you can help right now - making calls through our online phone bank and recruiting your friends and family to get involved in our campaign.

Make Phone Calls: With our online phone bank, it's never been easier to volunteer. If you can take 20 minutes out of your day today to make calls for the McCain-Palin campaign, you can make a big difference. Choose the state where you would like to make calls, use the call script on your computer screen, and record the results online. It's that simple.

Recruit Friends: This is going to be a close election. Some experts predict it will be one of the closest elections in our country's history. By spreading the word about your support for John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are directly helping our campaign expand our grassroots network of supporters.

Start recruiting your friends by following this link. Remember, you are the most persuasive spokesperson for John McCain and Sarah Palin to your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.

That's why I'm asking you to make calls and recruit your friends by telling them why you support McCain-Palin, and why they should too.

We appreciate all of your hard work.

Sincerely,
Christian Ferry
Deputy Campaign Manager

Obama + Bailout = Socialism

If this bailout goes through as crafted by Paulsen and Barack Obama wins on November 4th the slow path Democrats are taking toward socialism becomes a greased slide.

Once the government has their hooks into the free market America the Free becomes part of history.

I like what some of the Republicans are proposing much better than the full bailout. They talking points that are being used are good ones --- Main Street not Wall Street. I know that the two are intertwined and if Wall Street fails thus falls Main Street. However, there must be a way, there has to be a way, for Wall Street to pay for their own ills.

It's a huge issue and I'm glad John McCain and other Republicans have put the skids on the plan they tried to cram down our throats so we have the opportunity to examine it and try to find other options.

I seriously doubt they'll come up with something that will make me a happy camper.

John McCain on Financial Crisis

"This financial crisis requires leadership and action in order to restore a sound foundation to financial markets, get our economy on its feet, and eliminate this burden on hardworking middle-class Americans. I've spoken with Secretary Paulson and look forward to reviewing the full Administration proposal, as well as any modifications that might emerge in Congressional negotiations. As part of that process, I encourage all parties to consider both the principles and the proposals that I laid out on Friday in my Mortgage and Financial Institutions (MFI) trust plan -- an approach that would proactively resolve troubled financial institutions, enforce discipline on management and shareholders , and minimize the burden on the taxpayer."

Moms to the Right and Moms 4 McCain

I read with interest Moms4McCain.blogspot.com's post this morning on the changing media, changing country and women having a voice.

Women are a powerful force in this country and around the world yet the media has a one-size-fits-all attitude toward this very important group.

I don't trust the media and don't trust the news I hear any longer. However, I don't necessarily trust a large portion of what I read on the blogs, either. After all, we are getting our news from where? our perceptions are being formed based on what? To some degree it is church, friends, and reading certain fact-based research, but we are still creatures of our culture.

Continuing to play devils-advocate with myself, I am also highly aware that there is a lot of news that never makes it to the so-called mainstream media's attention. They don't want to present news that doesn't fit their criteria and perception of the world.

Good news doesn't sell. Good news about the war in Iraq definitely doesn't help them paint the picture they want to paint.

We need the blogs and we need women. We need Sarah Palin.

As a result of Moms4McCain's blog that I read this morning I found Moms to the Right, another great blog. http://www.momsintheright.com/

Setting The Record Straight On Barack Obama's Bipartisan Claims

"These were not areas where Barack Obama went up against the leadership of his own party nearly in the way that John McCain did on campaign finance reform, on limiting interrogation of terror detainees, on immigration reform. He did not go up against his own party on either of those issues." -- Fox News' Chris Wallace

Fox News'
"Fox News Sunday"
September 7, 2008

Fox News' Chris Wallace: "Now, David, McCain and Palin do have records of going up against their own parties. When has Barack Obama ever gone up against the Democratic Party in the U.S. Senate?"
...
Obama Senior Strategist David Axelrod: "One of the first things that Senator Obama did when he came to the U.S. Senate was push for the most far-reaching ethics reforms that we've seen since Watergate. That didn't please people on either side of the aisle, and he has done that consistently in his career. He's reached across party lines to find consensus and he's taken on his own party on issues like, like ethics reform. You know, what was interesting about these attacks about bipartisanship and so on is that people like Dick Lugar, the very respected Republican senator from Indiana, spoke out and said, These are just partisan attacks. I've worked with Barack Obama.' They worked together on arms control. Senator Coburn in Oklahoma worked together with him on budget issues, like putting the budget on Google so we can see how our money is being spent, putting caps on the contracts around Katrina rebuilding. Senator Obama has a strong recor d of working across party lines to produce progress for people."

Wallace: "But David, because you guys always talk about ethics legislation and the nuclear non-proliferation deal with Dick Lugar, I went back and looked -- both of those measures passed by unanimous consent. They were so accepted by the Senate that there was not even a vote. In fact, ethics legislation was one of the campaign promises. These were not -- if I may, if I may. These were not areas where Barack Obama went up against the leadership of his own party nearly in the way that John McCain did on campaign finance reform, on limiting interrogation of terror detainees, on immigration reform. He did not go up against his own party on either of those issues."
