Governor Rick Perry Proclaims April as Abortion Recovery Awareness Month

Governor Rick Perry agrees with Abortion Recovery InterNational and has proclaimed April as Abortion Recovery Awareness Month, in the great state of Texas. Just to think, Texas is where it all began!

We are honored that Governor Rick Perry is the first Governor to make this proclamation. Abortion Recovery InterNational would like to thank Governor Perry for his support and encouragement.

Thanks to each of you who have assisted us over the past five years bringing this very special month to the public's attention. We'd also like to thank Allen Parker for his introduction of this awareness opportunity to Governor Perry. This could not have happened without his involvement.

Click the link below to read Governor Perry's full proclamation! Governor Rick Perry

What is Abortion Recovery Awareness?

Webster defines "awareness" as having knowledge of something, especially of something not generally known or apparent. Some women personally become "aware" of abortion complications, the moment they get off the table. Men often become aware the second their girlfriend/wife rolls out of the operating room. However, most individuals usually don't become aware of the prospects for recovery until days, weeks or even years later. Abortion may hurts individuals and families.

Our goal is to enlighten society on that key issue. Recovery can restore lives, personally and throughout a family! That's what Abortion Recovery Awareness Month (ARAM) is all about.

Why Recovery is Important?

Abortion Recovery changes a person's life! Most abortion affective clients search out healing opportunities only when their pain becomes unbearable, they are triggered by something, or they are encouraged by a friend or family member to seek help. One of our goals at Abortion Recovery InterNational is to enlighten society by raising awareness of abortion and its aftermath. We also want to inform people of the recovery opportunities that are available world-wide.

So in early 2005, ARIN established APRIL as Abortion Recovery Awareness Month. ARAM has two key purposes, to: encourage and promote healing opportunities enlighten society to the aftermath of abortion on individuals and familiesAbortion Recovery Awareness Month is "secular-friendly." It is FREE of condemnation, judgments or negative connotations. It has no political agenda. Abortion Recovery Awareness Month is full of compassion, grace and forgiveness, resulting in help, healing and hope! A celebration and renewal of someone's life. Let's start by sharing those!

The opportunities are limitless! See our planned activities here: 2009 Calendar

Blagojevich and Obama Discussed Senate Seat

Blagojevich- Barack Obama and I HAVE discussed how to fill his Senate Seat. Barack Obama- I have NEVER spoken to Blago about my Senate replacement… Who is lying?
Posted: 11 Dec 2008 11:05 AM CST
Before this is covered up/retracted/denied too ala KHQA 7, here is what an article in the archives of the Chicago-Tribune says:

Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday cited the potential for bad “karma” and avoided discussing potential Senate successors to Barack Obama should the Democratic nominee win the White House, but acknowledged he has a process in mind for making the most important appointment of his career.

“I just don’t want to jinx him and I don’t like the karma of me thinking that far ahead,” Blagojevich said of Obama’s prospects in Tuesday’s election. The governor added, “We have had some discussions about a process which we’ll share … if all goes well.”
Contrast the above with this statement from Obama: (click the title above to read the entire article on P.U.M.A.)

Fairness Doctrine 2.0

From the Heritage Foundation's Morning Bell (thanks to my sister bloggers for sharing the Heritage Foundation with me! Wow, loads of really good info):

After the Democratic Party took control of Congress in 2006, experts predicted the federal government was sure to pass "comprehensive" immigration reform. The new liberal majorities in the House and Senate wanted it, the mainstream media wanted it, a Republican president wanted it , and the eventual nominee of Republican Party helped craft the bill. But then democracy happened. Conservative and independent activists pierced through the establishment's gooey rhetoric to expose what was at the core of the bill: amnesty for millions of immigrants who violated American laws when entering the country that would end up costing taxpayers at least $2.6 trillion.

Key to this grassroots victory was talk radio. By informing and motivating their listeners, talk radio hosts generated thousands of calls to Congress, which swamped Capitol Hill switchboards. When the dust settled, the American people won. This was made possible thanks to the principles enshrined in the First Amendment : the freedom of speech, freedom of press, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

But the establishment was not happy. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) complained that "hate radio" had hijacked political discourse and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) called for a revival of the Fairness Doctrine. Authorized by the Communications Act of 1934 and implemented by the Federal Communications Commission in 1949, the Fairness Doctrine required broadcasters to "afford reasonable opportunity for discussion of contrasting points of view on controversial matters of public importance ."

While this may sound reasonable at first, just like "comprehensive" immigration reform does, the language itself is impossibly vague. The Fairness Doctrine became a tool for politicians to harass stations that dared to air opinions they did not like. Even if a challenge against a station ultimately failed, the cost of defending against it could be substantial. So the safe route for most station owners was to stay far away from the policy discussion entirely.

It took a conservative revolution in Washington before the FCC finally recognized how stifling its "fairness" rule was. In 1987 the FCC found that "the intrusion by government into the content of programming occasioned by the enforcement of [the Fairness Doctrine] restricts the journalistic freedom of broadcasters ... [and] actually inhibits the presentation of controversial issues of public importance to the detriment of the public and the degradation of the editorial prerogative of broadcast journalists."

But now that they are back in power, liberals are again bent on stifling dissent. They have learned from their past failures, however. Last year former talk show host Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) sponsored legislation forbidding the FCC from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine. It passed 309-115. But the measure was never taken up by the Senate. The FCC still has the same power it did in 1949 to create a new Fairness Doctrine. And that is exactly what the left is already moving to do.

Last year the Center for American Progress released its blueprint for the re-censorship of America's airwaves . The report notes that the exact same language that authorized the original Fairness Doctrine has never been repealed: "Thus, the public obligations inherent in the Fairness Doctrine are still in existence and operative, at least on paper. ... The Fairness Doctrine was most effective as part of a regulatory structure that limited license terms to three years, subjected broadcasters to license challenges through comparative hearings ... and empowered local community through a process of interviewing a variety of local leaders." These are exactly policy prescriptions the Center for American Progress wants the FCC to adopt today: shortening radio broadcast licenses from eight to three years; requiring broadcasters to prove to bureaucrats they are operating "on behalf of the public interest"; and forcing broadcasters who fail to satisfy the bureaucrats to fund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The left will not call this new policy the Fairness Doctrine. They know they lost that fight. Instead, liberals are using new buzzwords like "localism"to mask their attacks on free speech. But make no mistake, the "public interest" requirements of Fairness Doctrine 2.0 can be defined almost any way a regulator wants -- up to and perhaps even beyond that required by the old Fairness Doctrine. Conservatives must keep a close eye on what the FCC does next.

The Obama Elite

I'm going to rant. I am fed up with people who have Hollywood money, Obama money, media money, telling me I have to give up my hard earned pennies to support the causes THEY tell me are important.

I make a fraction of what Obama makes and I guarantee you that I give much more on a percentage basis. Mega ditto discrepancies when you compare what I earn (and work hard to earn) with the Madonnas, Brad Pitts and other pampered and worshiped butts.

If everyone in Hollywood gave up 1/4 of their earnings to feed the poor or fund health care, we'd solve the problem overnight. Unless the government managed the money, then we'd be in a bigger world of hurt. They'd build bridges to hospitals rather than take care of those in need.

I know some in Hollywood, the music industry and sports are giving quite a bit. However, when you really think about it, there's enough money in those three fields to clothe and feed the majority of the homeless, build houses for them and teach them job skills (or get them other help as I know from personal experience that a lot of them are mentally challenged).

Look at Joe Biden's record of giving. Pathetic.

Have you noticed that most conservatives add action to their words? They don't go out and stand with a sign protesting, they get off their tushes and adopt kids (like John and Cindy McCain), volunteer at hospitals, cut checks to charities and build houses for the needy. I'm not saying some liberal types don't do the same, but there's plenty of documentation and studies to show the huge disparity between the two groups. Republicans (using one conservative group) give 30% more than Democrats.

We're involved, we care, we give. I don't appreciate hearing Obama talk about spreading MY paltry wealth around. I assure you, he and Biden aren't planning on giving up one piece of pie to share with others.

Let them lead by example. If they want my wealth, lets see them give up a chunk of theirs and hand it over. If Obama has his way, we're going to see poverty rise like we've never seen it rise before. There will be lines for even the most lowly jobs and class disparity will be the norm. There will be the Obama-Elite and the rest of the country. He'll blame every negative action he has to take to get us to the place he wants to take us on George W. Bush. And the masses will swallow it.

Christianity and Barack Obama

Just browsing through the Read My Lipstick Network blogs and two blogs from Barracuda Babes popped up that I found interesting. She wrote about Barack Obama, character, judgement, Christianity and a number of related subjects and touched on a lot of areas that sparked my little pea brain's thought process.

I decided to find out more about Barack Obama's Christian beliefs if I could, which I figured would be next to impossible given his penchant for hiding things of importance. But, but, but, I sputter, I was able to find out much, much, much.

Here be a grouping of YouTube comments right from the very mouth of Mr. Obama that will allow you to make your own decisions on whether he's a Christian or not. Ya gotta love YouTube, you can run, you can sneak, you can talk in private and it just doesn't matter if there's anyone else in the room. You're busted.

Question to ask yourself...

Would you be voting for Barack Obama if he were 100% white instead of half-white (or half-black)?

I have so many black friends who have now said they can't express any dissatisfaction with Barack Obama openly for fear of reprisal.

What is that about?

Race.

Unfortunately race is a factor in this election and I don't think it's white prejudice, it's support for someone who calls himself black.

I am probably going to get hate mail or be shut down by blogger simply for raising the issue. It's a topic that can't be discussed openly. It's like the elephant in the room that everyone ignores.

If we've grown enough as a country to consider electing a black man or a white woman, why are we so scared of talking about race? Why is it that I'll probably be attacked simply for asking questions?

In America we seen to deal with things in a pendulum manner. We sweep from one side to the far, far other extreme, going back and forth until we settle comfortably in the middle I hope we'll hit the middle in my lifetime. I'm tired of having to pussyfoot around the topic.

Economics 101 for Obama Voters

I have a small business.

On the books it shows we make over $250,000.

Obama takes over, implements his tax plans to tax all of the big guys making over $250,000.

I have 15 employees.

I support my family and four kids on the profits.

With Obama's tax plan I now pay taxes I didn't pay this year, or last year, or the year before.

I'm not going to cut my salary because my kids deserve to live on the fruits of my labor. I struggled for ten years to make sure I could feed every one of my kids. I save money to put them through college. I did without dinners out, without the car I wanted and I used coupons to shop in discount stores. I bought my clothes at the thrift store and cut my own grass.

Now I'm finally in a position after years of living frugally to start to relax just a bit and start putting some money back toward my retirement. I want to make sure my family is well taken care of in the event something happens to me.

The people I buy my supplies from are in the same boat I'm in. They have to figure out, just like me, what we're going to do to make sure we stay in business and that our employees still have jobs.

We have options. We can cut everyone's pay. We can let some of the staff go. We can increase the price of our product. Our lease still costs the same amount, our utilities still cost the same amount and our taxes are going up, up, up.

If I let some of the staff go then the others who are here will have to pick up the slack. Some things won't get done and some things will get done slower.

If I cut everyone's pay we might can squeak through but then everyone is struggling.

I'm going to raise the cost of my product. So are my suppliers, which will force me to increase my prices even more.

Who gets hurt? Not me, I'm still taking home the same amount. You Obama voters are going to pay more for products.

If you think it sounds good to take from the rich and give to the poor, you'll definitely never be able to call yourself rich. You're not taking from the rich, you're stealing from those of us who worked our butts off to make it. Most of us worked really hard to attain the American dream and now you want us to hand it over to you. Forget it. Tax my business all you want and see what you get. Higher prices, people on the street who could have had a job, expansions curtailed and growth slowed to a virtual halt, if not reversed. Empty shops.

So who's going to pick up the tab for all the people who can't find work? You are if you're paying any kind of taxes. Even if you are on the government dole the cost of gas will go up, the cost of food will rise and everything you buy will ultimately cost more. Your paycheck won't go as far and you'll wonder what hit you in the wallet. You'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

Go ahead, vote Obama thinking he'll hand things to you on a tin platter. Enjoy the euphoria from Nov. 4th until Jan. 2nd. After that it's downhill all the way and you'll be the ones who pay.

Checks and Balances in Government

Our government is set up to have checks and balances.

Have you thought about what happens to that system if Barack Obama is elected?

We would have a Democrat Congress and a Democrat President.

Whatever Obama will want, he'll get.

When Supreme Court positions come up, Obama will be able to appoint whoever he wants and will know they'll breeze through.

Then he'll have control over Congress, the Presidential office and our legal system.

Given the current economic difficulties can you imagine how easy it will be for him to take over the country, change the Constitution, nationalize anything he chooses?

Think it's far fetched? Study history and see how easy countries were led down the path of communism, dictatorships or socialism. Smooth talkers made the future look rosy but the reality was the ruination of economies, war, poverty and the loss of freedom. Our country's future is at stake. Our Constitution is at risk. We need to keep our system of checks and balances if we are going to keep our freedom.

Obama says our soldiers are killing civilians

Found another video Mr. Biden! He said it and it lives forever on YouTube!

Obama says he'll sit down with foreign dictators, no preconditions

I finally found the video of the debate where Barack Obama says he'll sit down with foreign dictators without any preconditions. Come on Joe, give it up, you know better because you were there.

Let's Elect John McCain and Sarah Palin!!!

Wasn't Sarah Palin super last night? I have read today's stories and listened as the media tried to figure out how they wanted to handle her. It is just like the day after her first speech - they haven't gotten their talking points yet so they're floundering and some are being honest and saying they thought she did great!

It's only going to take them a day or so at most to regroup and hear from the Democratic Party on how they're supposed to attack Sarah so enjoy today!

I am hoping normal Americans rise up and vote for our team of true mavericks and that they aren't as easily led as usual by all the insinuations and junk that is passed off as news. I like what Sean Hannity said about the death of the media. He is so right in that the true media has been co-opted and died a nasty death (he didn't say it that way, I extrapolated all that from his one comment ).

Here's today's campaign update email:

Friends,

Millions of people across the country have joined the grassroots effort to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin as our next President and Vice President. Many of you have attended town hall meetings, rallies and other campaign events and want to know how you can help the McCain-Palin ticket. There are two ways you can help right now - making calls through our online phone bank and recruiting your friends and family to get involved in our campaign.

Make Phone Calls: With our online phone bank, it's never been easier to volunteer. If you can take 20 minutes out of your day today to make calls for the McCain-Palin campaign, you can make a big difference. Choose the state where you would like to make calls, use the call script on your computer screen, and record the results online. It's that simple.

Recruit Friends: This is going to be a close election. Some experts predict it will be one of the closest elections in our country's history. By spreading the word about your support for John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are directly helping our campaign expand our grassroots network of supporters.

Start recruiting your friends by following this link. Remember, you are the most persuasive spokesperson for John McCain and Sarah Palin to your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.

That's why I'm asking you to make calls and recruit your friends by telling them why you support McCain-Palin, and why they should too.

We appreciate all of your hard work.

Sincerely,
Christian Ferry
Deputy Campaign Manager

Obama + Bailout = Socialism

If this bailout goes through as crafted by Paulsen and Barack Obama wins on November 4th the slow path Democrats are taking toward socialism becomes a greased slide.

Once the government has their hooks into the free market America the Free becomes part of history.

I like what some of the Republicans are proposing much better than the full bailout. They talking points that are being used are good ones --- Main Street not Wall Street. I know that the two are intertwined and if Wall Street fails thus falls Main Street. However, there must be a way, there has to be a way, for Wall Street to pay for their own ills.

It's a huge issue and I'm glad John McCain and other Republicans have put the skids on the plan they tried to cram down our throats so we have the opportunity to examine it and try to find other options.

I seriously doubt they'll come up with something that will make me a happy camper.
