The Obama Elite

I'm going to rant. I am fed up with people who have Hollywood money, Obama money, media money, telling me I have to give up my hard earned pennies to support the causes THEY tell me are important.

I make a fraction of what Obama makes and I guarantee you that I give much more on a percentage basis. Mega ditto discrepancies when you compare what I earn (and work hard to earn) with the Madonnas, Brad Pitts and other pampered and worshiped butts.

If everyone in Hollywood gave up 1/4 of their earnings to feed the poor or fund health care, we'd solve the problem overnight. Unless the government managed the money, then we'd be in a bigger world of hurt. They'd build bridges to hospitals rather than take care of those in need.

I know some in Hollywood, the music industry and sports are giving quite a bit. However, when you really think about it, there's enough money in those three fields to clothe and feed the majority of the homeless, build houses for them and teach them job skills (or get them other help as I know from personal experience that a lot of them are mentally challenged).

Look at Joe Biden's record of giving. Pathetic.

Have you noticed that most conservatives add action to their words? They don't go out and stand with a sign protesting, they get off their tushes and adopt kids (like John and Cindy McCain), volunteer at hospitals, cut checks to charities and build houses for the needy. I'm not saying some liberal types don't do the same, but there's plenty of documentation and studies to show the huge disparity between the two groups. Republicans (using one conservative group) give 30% more than Democrats.

We're involved, we care, we give. I don't appreciate hearing Obama talk about spreading MY paltry wealth around. I assure you, he and Biden aren't planning on giving up one piece of pie to share with others.

Let them lead by example. If they want my wealth, lets see them give up a chunk of theirs and hand it over. If Obama has his way, we're going to see poverty rise like we've never seen it rise before. There will be lines for even the most lowly jobs and class disparity will be the norm. There will be the Obama-Elite and the rest of the country. He'll blame every negative action he has to take to get us to the place he wants to take us on George W. Bush. And the masses will swallow it.

Economics 101 for Obama Voters

I have a small business.

On the books it shows we make over $250,000.

Obama takes over, implements his tax plans to tax all of the big guys making over $250,000.

I have 15 employees.

I support my family and four kids on the profits.

With Obama's tax plan I now pay taxes I didn't pay this year, or last year, or the year before.

I'm not going to cut my salary because my kids deserve to live on the fruits of my labor. I struggled for ten years to make sure I could feed every one of my kids. I save money to put them through college. I did without dinners out, without the car I wanted and I used coupons to shop in discount stores. I bought my clothes at the thrift store and cut my own grass.

Now I'm finally in a position after years of living frugally to start to relax just a bit and start putting some money back toward my retirement. I want to make sure my family is well taken care of in the event something happens to me.

The people I buy my supplies from are in the same boat I'm in. They have to figure out, just like me, what we're going to do to make sure we stay in business and that our employees still have jobs.

We have options. We can cut everyone's pay. We can let some of the staff go. We can increase the price of our product. Our lease still costs the same amount, our utilities still cost the same amount and our taxes are going up, up, up.

If I let some of the staff go then the others who are here will have to pick up the slack. Some things won't get done and some things will get done slower.

If I cut everyone's pay we might can squeak through but then everyone is struggling.

I'm going to raise the cost of my product. So are my suppliers, which will force me to increase my prices even more.

Who gets hurt? Not me, I'm still taking home the same amount. You Obama voters are going to pay more for products.

If you think it sounds good to take from the rich and give to the poor, you'll definitely never be able to call yourself rich. You're not taking from the rich, you're stealing from those of us who worked our butts off to make it. Most of us worked really hard to attain the American dream and now you want us to hand it over to you. Forget it. Tax my business all you want and see what you get. Higher prices, people on the street who could have had a job, expansions curtailed and growth slowed to a virtual halt, if not reversed. Empty shops.

So who's going to pick up the tab for all the people who can't find work? You are if you're paying any kind of taxes. Even if you are on the government dole the cost of gas will go up, the cost of food will rise and everything you buy will ultimately cost more. Your paycheck won't go as far and you'll wonder what hit you in the wallet. You'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

Go ahead, vote Obama thinking he'll hand things to you on a tin platter. Enjoy the euphoria from Nov. 4th until Jan. 2nd. After that it's downhill all the way and you'll be the ones who pay.

Moms to the Right and Moms 4 McCain

I read with interest Moms4McCain.blogspot.com's post this morning on the changing media, changing country and women having a voice.

Women are a powerful force in this country and around the world yet the media has a one-size-fits-all attitude toward this very important group.

I don't trust the media and don't trust the news I hear any longer. However, I don't necessarily trust a large portion of what I read on the blogs, either. After all, we are getting our news from where? our perceptions are being formed based on what? To some degree it is church, friends, and reading certain fact-based research, but we are still creatures of our culture.

Continuing to play devils-advocate with myself, I am also highly aware that there is a lot of news that never makes it to the so-called mainstream media's attention. They don't want to present news that doesn't fit their criteria and perception of the world.

Good news doesn't sell. Good news about the war in Iraq definitely doesn't help them paint the picture they want to paint.

We need the blogs and we need women. We need Sarah Palin.

Honest and Open Election Committee Launced by McCain-Palin

I've signed up to be a local poll watcher in Georgia simply because we're already hearing rumors that some of the Obama supporters are planning some shenanigans. In the county where I live we've never had a problem but I understand there's talk about coming here just for that reason. It's unexpected. Who knows whether it's hype or true, but either way we're preparing. I'm expecting BIG problems across the country this year and it'll probably be a mess. So far the Republican's aren't getting much of a fair shake from the media so it's doubtful they'll be any different if there are problems at the polls or with the votes. I hope everyone carries a video recorder with them when they go to vote. You can't take pictures IN the voting area, but if there's illegal stuff going on I'm up for breaking the law on that one. I obviously haven't had my training yet, I may find out that even having a camera is a huge no-no.

I can't believe the way the press is going after Sarah Palin. I've been reading some of the other posts in the Read My Lipstick network so others are doing a great job of keeping up with some of the garbage I'm seeing.


MCCAIN-PALIN 2008 LAUNCHES "HONEST AND OPEN ELECTION COMMITTEE"

The McCain-Palin 2008 campaign today announced the formation of the Honest and Open Election Committee, with a mission to ensure that every qualified citizen has the opportunity to vote in a fair and transparent manner. The committee will work with state and local election officials to anticipate, and where possible resolve in advance, problems likely to arise on Election Day.

The advisory committee will be co-chaired by former United States Senators John C. Danforth and Warren B. Rudman. The committee also includes current and former members of Congress and former state secretaries of state, election officials, and state attorneys general, along with prominent academic experts in election law. The diverse composition of the committee reflects the McCain-Palin campaign's desire to put partisan politics aside in the hope of seeing a fair and transparent election in November.

The committee will advise the campaign with respect to policy and actual or potential legal proceedings involving the campaign laws and practices in various states working towards avoiding litigation when possible.

"The purpose of the Honest and Open Election Committee is to resolve potential voting problems in advance of Election Day to bolster voters' confidence in the system," said Rudman. "We believe that elections should be decided by voters, not lawyers."

The Honest and Open Election Committee requested a dialogue between the McCain-Palin campaign and both the Democratic National Committee and the Obama-Biden campaign in letters sent today.

"We stand ready to work with you in a cooperative manner on issues that, if not handled properly, are likely to become adversarial," the letter states. "Let's show the American people that our two parties can together develop a transparent and open process in every voting place in the country. Experience has shown that careful, advance planning that anticipates and addresses problems and creates solutions can substantially reduce issues on Election Day."

In an effort to discuss these issues with the top election officials in each state, the McCain-Palin election committee sent those officials a letter offering assistance. The McCain-Palin election committee also launched a website at www.johnmccain.com/honest.

"Our committee will assist election officials across the country to make sure that federal and state voting regulations are understood and upheld. It is a reflection of the campaign's commitment to tackling tough problems in a bi-partisan manner," Danforth said.

Just finished watching the special

I'm listening to the special on John McCain as I type, just don't have time to watch unfortunately. But I can hear it very well. I'd be surprised if they showed something new given the fact that we've been listening and reading about Senator McCain for the past two years, then before when he ran for President.

I didn't learn much that was new about Sarah Palin either. It was interesting seeing her PREGNANT all you ninny bloggers who tried to make her the grandmother of her latest little one rather than the mother.

Let's see, Trig was born April 18th. Bristol is 5 months pregnant. That would mean she must have gotten pregnant practically within minutes of giving birth to Trig.

Even though Mom was in the public eye, even though Bristol was in the public eye, these idiot bloggers have tried to turn it into something bizarre. How the mind of some people works is beyond the rational.

I am getting such a kick out of Democrats telling Sarah Palin she should be staying home with her children. Let me get something to clean out my ears and wipe my glasses. I can't be hearing and reading this from liberal women can I????

I call it vagina envy. These women can't stand it. The Republicans have picked a woman who can do it all and their guy wouldn't pick Hillary Clinton. He turned down a sure thing rather than pick a woman. If Obama loses I think history will point to the moment when he picked Joe Biden.

CBS' Bob Schieffer: "We're glad to have you. Let's start right in with what you were talking about the other night. You did something really extraordinary at that convention. I've never been at a political convention where I heard a candidate get up and not only go after the other party but go after your own party. You even said at one point your party had lost its way. You said that Washington has to change and you're the one that can change it. But that's going to be a tall order isn't it? I mean because normally it's out in the wilderness. It's the group that's out that says throw the bums out. You're saying it was your party that was part of the problem and that you can be the agent of change. How do you convince people of that?"

John McCain: "Well, Bob, I think we have to show them my record. I think we have to show them that I took on the big spenders, that I did campaign finance reform. And I know we're going to be talking about my running mate , but I think I got the right kind of running mate who has that record also."

Schieffer: "We'll get to that in just a minute. But let me ask you just some specifics on how you're going to do it. Are you going to try to form some sort of unity government? Are you going to try to have Democrats within your administration as well as Republicans in?"

McCain: "You have to. You have to. Look at the approval rating of both Republicans and Democrats now. Look at the loss of trust and confidence. When we do all the town hall meetings and people say I've lost all trust and confidence in government, they don't say I've lost confidence in Republicans, Democrats, lost confidence in everybody. And the way you restore it is obviously to have a very bipartisan approach. They're in gridlock now. We all know that. They're going to go into session tomorrow actually and they're going to be gridlocked for a month and then they're going to go out. Whether it be energy or whether it be passing the necessary appropriations bills, whatever it is. And then the American people will frankly who are hurting more are going to be more disillusioned if that's possible."
